Warning: that $80 creosote log was pure marketing

Bought a fancy creosote treatment log from the hardware store on Orchard Ave, thought it would save me a sweep. After 3 months the chimney was worse than before, had to spend $450 on a proper cleaning and brush kit. Have you guys ever had one of those logs actually work?

Three winters ago I swore by those logs, but after one nearly caused a blockage, I changed my mind completely.
