Used to think old houses were charming until I helped a friend fix one. Now I just see a long list of things waiting to break.

My 1920s bungalow has original wiring, so I feel that.

But that's exactly the charm, isn't it? You get to be part of the house's story, fixing what generations before you also fixed. There's a real satisfaction in that.
