That old mason told me to switch to stainless steel flex liners for offset flues and I should've listened sooner
After fighting with a difficult offset job for three hours last Saturday, I finally caved and tried his advice on the next house and it cut the install time in half, so has anyone else found the flex liners worth the extra cost over rigid?

Oh man, have I been there? Three hours on one offset is just soul-crushing. I remember one job that took me almost four hours because I kept fighting with the rigid sections and nothing would line up right. I was so fed up I almost just quit for the day. After that nightmare I went straight to the supply house and grabbed a flex liner set for the next job. It was like a completely different world. The time savings alone is worth it, plus my back didn't hate me the next morning. I seriously don't know why I waited so long to try them, it's one of those things you just gotta see for yourself.

Three hours for an offset is brutal, I would've thrown my hammer through a window by hour two. The flex liners are worth every penny honestly, especially when you're dealing with tight offsets that fight back. I made the switch after a similar nightmare and haven't looked back since.
