That 3-year-old masonry flue liner I failed to catch on a job in Green Bay came back to bite me last week
Customer called me out on a 6-inch gap at the crown joint that I must have missed during the reline, and now I'm eating the cost of a full redo because my camera battery died that day and I skipped the final photos.

Isn't that how it always goes though... you skip one small step and suddenly it's the whole thing coming back at you. Seems like every time I try to cut a corner just a little to save time or hassle, it ends up costing twice as much later. It's wild how those little decisions we make when we're tired or rushed can snowball into something way bigger.

Totally agree with @wright.lisa... one little shortcut and it always bites you later. I swear the universe has a way of making sure you pay for that extra five minutes you tried to save.

@wright.lisa you just described my entire life with that last sentence. I tried to save five minutes last week by not preheating the oven and ended up with a burnt, raw-in-the-middle casserole that took an hour to clean up. My husband just stood there with that "I told you so" look without saying a word. Guess I'll never learn but at least the dog got a weird snack out of it.
