Split decision on safety gear after a soot-inhalation scare
During a sweep last week, I got a mouthful of soot when my basic mask failed after a creosote chunk dislodged. Some sweeps I know swear by upgraded respirators, but others say it's overkill for most jobs. Where do you stand on investing in top-tier safety equipment?

That exact thing is why I upgraded. Good gear is cheap insurance for your lungs.
