Liners are the same brand, but the smoke stain difference is night and day

Swapped out a clay flue liner for a stainless one on a house in Portland, same fireplace, same wood, and the creosote buildup looks totally different after just 2 weeks. Has anyone else noticed stainless holds less glazed creosote compared to the old clay, or is it just the better draft?
