Hit 1000 chimney sweeps this year and it felt different than I expected

I just finished my 1000th sweep of 2024 last Thursday on a job over in Oakville. For the longest time I thought hitting that number would just feel like another day at work, but seeing how many flues I actually cleared this year made me realize I've been underestimating my own output. Does anybody else track their yearly numbers or just go by feel?

You gotta respect the hustle, but tracking numbers takes the fun out of it for me. I just show up and do the work, feels more organic that way.

Claire, yeah a thousand flues. My crew did 847 last year and I felt every single one of them in my knees by December. You don't realize you're pushing that hard until you see the number on paper. Most guys I know just go by feel, but tracking it changes how you see the season. Like when I hit 600 in early October I knew I had to pace myself for the holiday rush.
