Bought a 'premium' brush kit that fell apart after 3 jobs

Spent $90 on a set of poly brushes from a brand I saw on Instagram... the wire bristles started shedding into a customer's fireplace on my third sweep. Anyone else had cheap brushes ruin a flue inspection?

I had a $40 set last year that lasted two seasons before the bristles started warping in cold flues, so I get the frustration but I think $90 on an Instagram brand was your first red flag. Those ads are usually drop-shipped junk dressed up with nice lighting. The poly brushes I've had good luck with come from proper chimney supply places, not social media shops. I'd try contacting the seller before leaving a review, they might refund you since three jobs is basically nothing for a brush.

Huh, I don't think poly brushes are a thing for chimneys. You might be mixing them up with polypropylene rods or something. Poly bristles would melt or warp way faster than nylon in a hot flue, not last longer. Nylon is the standard stuff for most decent brush sets.
