Three slow nights in a row and I almost walked out mid-shift last Friday
Last week the line was dead by 8pm, we had like 14 covers total and the expo guy kept arguing about the ticket order. By Friday I was so fed up I nearly threw my towel at the walk-in door after the third '86 on a dish we'd prepped that morning. It wasn't the rush that broke me, it was the boredom and the stupid small talk about why nobody was coming in. Has anyone else hit that point where a slow shift is worse than a slammed one, or am I just losing it after 6 years on the line?

Back in 2019 I worked a stretch of 20-cover Tuesdays that nearly did me in, so I started fiddling with the specials board and testing sauces during the dead time. Kept my hands busy and my head out of the doom spiral, honestly saved my sanity.
