Am I the only one who thinks 90% of YouTube cooking channels are overcomplicating simple dishes?

I watched a guy spend 45 minutes explaining how to season a cast iron pan when all you need is oil, heat, and bacon fat like my grandma showed me in 20 seconds.

Right? Isn't that the truth. I saw a guy break out a thermometer just to toast bread for a sandwich once. My grandma would have laughed him out of the kitchen. It's like they have to add a bunch of fancy steps and expensive gadgets to make a simple grilled cheese sound like a Michelin star project. A little butter, some bread, and cheese. That's it. Your mileage may vary, but I get so tired of watching 10 minutes of someone explaining why they use a specific salt.

1955 called and wants its white bread back. That thermometer guy probably owns a digital salt cellar too. Sometimes a grilled cheese is just a grilled cheese.
