Which celeb handled a social media apology better? Gwyneth vs. Justin

I feel like there's a divide in how celebs own up to dumb posts on social media. Gwyneth Paltrow posted that weird thing about a detox diet last month, then just deleted it without a word. But Justin Bieber posted an Instagram joke that bombed, came back 2 hours later with a video saying 'my bad, that was dumb.' One feels like ignoring the mistake, the other feels like admitting you messed up. Which approach do you guys think actually works better for fixing a celeb social fail?

Honestly, Bieber's way is way better. Deleting stuff like Gwyneth did just makes people dig for screenshots and talk more. The quick "my bad" video stops the drama fast because it shows you get it. Plus, people actually respect you more for owning up instead of pretending it never happened. Bieber looked human, Gwyneth looked like she was hoping nobody noticed.

Gotta disagree on one thing though - Bieber definitely didn't invent that "quick video apology" thing. Plenty of celebs have done it before him, like when that actor from the Office guy made that weird Instagram apology for that racist joke a few years back. And honestly, Gwyneth didn't really delete stuff, she just kinda ignored it and moved on, which is a different move entirely. But yeah, the point stands that owning up quick works better than pretending nothing happened. People can smell fake from a mile away, and the instant apology at least feels real even if it's calculated. Just wish more people would actually mean it instead of just doing damage control.
