That time Gwyneth Paltrow told everyone to put jade eggs in their bodies...
I remember when Gwyneth Paltrow posted about those jade eggs for yoni exercises back in 2017. A friend of mine in our book club was dead serious about trying it because "Goop said it balances your hormones." I told her it sounded like a bad idea but she went ahead and ordered one for $66 anyway. She used it for like 3 days before she got a bacterial infection and had to go to the doctor. The doctor literally told her to throw it in the trash and never put random rocks inside her body. She still follows Goop to this day but she skips the wellness advice now. Anyone else have a friend who fell for one of these celebrity health scams?

Dude! That's insane about your friend getting an infection. I had a coworker who bought into the whole "wellness" thing too, she spent like 200 bucks on some weird copper bracelets from a celebrity wellness line that were supposed to "balance your energy." She wore them for a week and got a rash so bad her arm swelled up. When she asked the company for a refund they said it was a "detox reaction" and she needed to keep wearing them. She stopped after the doctor told her it was a contact dermatitis from the copper. Did your friend ever try to get her money back from Goop or did she just eat the $66? Sounds like those jade eggs should come with a warning label or something.

My cousin bought a "grounding" mat for $120 and it just made her carpet smell like burnt toast.

The $66 was gone. She said she'd rather forget it than deal with Goop customer service. The worst part was the packaging came with this little "guidebook" talking about ancient Chinese traditions and feminine energy. Like a fancy brochure for an infection. I still see those jade eggs on Instagram ads and it makes me cringe knowing people are putting porous rocks into the most sensitive part of their body.
