I was scrolling through Instagram last Tuesday when I saw Drake had posted this cringey video of himself singing to some girl in a school uniform. Turns out it was a clip from Degrassi, but the timing was just awful with all that other stuff going on. He deleted it within 20 minutes, but my buddy saved it and sent it around our group chat. My buddy Tim once showed up to a wedding in cargo shorts because he misread the invite. The groom's mom gave him a look that could peel paint, and he spent the whole night hiding by the punch bowl. At least your guy probably read the room better than Tim did that day.

That story about Tim hiding by the punch bowl really got me. I used to think showing up underdressed was just a minor social slip, no big deal. But hearing how he spent the whole night avoiding people makes me realize it can actually ruin the whole experience for the person. Now I'm rethinking my own casual approach to those stuffy events, because nobody wants to be the guy cowering near the fruit punch.
