Rant: Watching a pop star try to explain a meme for a solid 15 minutes on their live stream
I was scrolling last night and got stuck on a live from a singer (let's say it was Chloe Rivers) who saw a meme about her own song and clearly didn't get it. She spent like a quarter of an hour trying to break down the joke, getting more confused, while her chat was just spamming crying-laughing emojis. It was so awkward it was kind of great. Has anyone else seen a celeb completely miss the point of something about themselves online?

The best part is when they start explaining the literal image. "It's a picture of a cat wearing a hat, and the text says 'me waiting for the chorus'... but I don't own a cat?" Ma'am, the cat is all of us. Watching you try to do advanced meme algebra in real time is its own form of entertainment.

Watching @perry.evan describe this makes me wonder if memes are just modern Rorschach tests.

Yeah I saw my aunt do this with that "distracted boyfriend" meme. She spent five minutes talking about how disrespectful the guy was being, then asked why the girlfriend was so mad about a street sign. Had to explain it's not about the actual people in the photo, it's about wanting something new while you already have something good. Her face just went blank. Sometimes the meaning is totally separate from the picture.
