Katy Perry's 2017 tweet about 'eating a whole pizza' after the Grammys still makes me cringe
I remember scrolling Twitter back in February 2017 after the Grammys and seeing Katy Perry tweet 'I ate a whole pizza before the show and now I'm paying for it' with a crying emoji. Then like two seconds later she deleted it, but the internet already screenshotted everything. The thing that got me was she tried to play it off as a joke in a follow up, but people started roasting her for trying to be relatable while wearing a $10k gown. I was in a dorm room in Austin watching the whole thing go down with my roommate, and we just kept refreshing to see if she'd delete again. It was such a small thing but it blew up because she was already catching heat for that whole 'purposeful pop' era. What made it worse was she posted a pic of the pizza on Instagram later that night, like she was doubling down on being messy. To this day I think about how fast a single tweet can turn into a whole news cycle. Does anyone else remember a celeb tweet that got deleted faster than you could screenshot it?
