Just had that debate with myself about whether Taylor Swift's Instagram apology last month was genuine or just damage control
I took like 45 minutes staring at the post trying to figure out if she really meant the 'I didn't realize my jet usage was so triggering' part or if it was just PR spin after getting called out, and I still can't decide, anyone else stuck on which side to lean on?

It's not really an apology though, it's more of a non-apology. She said sorry her "jet usage was so triggering" which is different than owning up to the actual carbon footprint. That wording alone tells me it's damage control, not genuine regret.

Yeah but see, here's the thing @derek994 - I actually used to defend her on this. I thought people were just piling on because she's famous. But when she used that "triggering" line, man, that changed my mind completely. She's not sorry for flying private every other day, she's just sorry people saw her doing it.
