I finally got the lighting right in my apartment after 6 months of trying

Swapped out my cheap LED strips for a single warm floor lamp and my Instagram story backgrounds actually look decent now. Has anyone else had a random home change make their content pop more?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. That struggle with cheap LED strips is real, I had those blue-tinted ones in my living room for way too long and everything looked like a crime scene. A single warm floor lamp is a game changer though, it softens everything up so your skin doesn't look weird on camera. Glad you finally got it dialed in, it makes such a difference for those backgrounds.

Noticed you said warm floor lamp but then agreed with the blue-tinted strip comment. Warm is yellow/orange light around 2700-3000K, not blue at all. Blue light is 5000K plus and that's what gives you the weird crime scene look. If you actually want warmth for skin tones, grab something around 2700K and put it at eye level or slightly higher, not on the floor. Floor level light shoots up and can make your face look shadowed from below.
