Hit 50k followers last week and posted the wrong screenshot lol

I was so excited about crossing 50k followers on Instagram that I wanted to share the milestone. But in my rush, I accidentally posted a screenshot of my analytics dashboard instead of the actual follower count. It showed my engagement rate dropped 4% that week and people immediately started commenting asking why my numbers tanked lmao. I deleted it after 10 minutes but someone already screen grabbed it and posted it on Twitter. The celeb I was trying to celebrate ended up roasting me in his stories about it. Has anyone else ever fumbled a big milestone post like that?

The internet doesn't deserve to know how the sausage gets made" is right, I used to think transparency was always good but you changed my mind.

Honestly the real lesson here is that you gave everyone a peek behind the curtain and they didn't like what they saw. People love to celebrate wins but they get weird when they see the messy numbers behind them. That celeb roasting you on his stories says more about him being a jerk than anything you did wrong. Next time just post the pretty number and keep the analytics to yourself. The internet doesn't deserve to know how the sausage gets made.
