Had to choose between posting a cringe fail or deleting it entirely

Last week I saw a celebrity I kinda follow post a really awkward video. They tried to do this trendy dance but their dog ran in and tripped them mid-move. It was bad. Real bad. I sat there for a solid 5 minutes deciding if I should share the clip on here or just let it die. I ended up posting it because I figured the community would get a laugh and it was too perfect for this page. The comments went wild, mostly roasting the dog's timing. But then the celebrity's fans showed up and started defending them hard. Made me wonder if I should've just left it alone. Has anyone else felt torn about sharing something that's funny but maybe kinda mean?

That whole situation reminds me of when my buddy recorded his cat knocking over a full bookshelf during a Zoom meeting with his boss. He was so stressed about whether to send it to me or delete it. I told him to send it because the cat's guilty face was too good. Now whenever something awkward happens to us we just say "at least your cat didn't do a book inspection in front of everyone." What made you finally hit post on that clip?

lol people online get way too defensive about celebrities they don't even know. Like you didn't push their grandma down the stairs or anything, you just shared a clip where a dog messed up their dance. It's not that serious. The fans showing up to white knight for someone who will never see their comments is always the funny part anyway. If the celeb themselves had a sense of humor about it maybe they'd laugh too.
