Got scammed by that Megan Thee Stallion verified fan presale code on Twitter... wasted $350 on fake tickets
I bought two resale tickets for her tour from some account that seemed legit with blue check and everything. But the codes didn't work day of the sale. Ticketmaster said the barcodes were already used. Lost every penny and the show sold out. Anyone else fallen for the presale code resellers or am I just the dumbest person here?

Honestly that sucks so bad, $350 is a lot to lose especially when you thought the blue check made it legit. Tbh the verified checkmark system on Twitter is totally broken now since anyone can buy one. Ngl these scammers are getting way too good at looking real these days.

Did you see that article about how scammers are now buying blue checks specifically to run these ticket scams? It's all over the news because Twitter basically made the checkmark worthless when they started selling them to anyone. The whole thing is a mess now, you basically can't trust a blue check for anything important. I read that these scam accounts buy the checkmark, post a few fake success stories, then blast out presale codes that don't exist. They're counting on people seeing that blue check and not looking any closer. Total shame you got hit, but honestly it's happening to way more people than you think because the system is broken.
