Fell for a celebrity cookbook that was just repackaged blog posts
I bought Nicole Richie's cookbook last year for $28 because she posted these beautiful photos of her making pasta from scratch. Turns out half the recipes were just her old blog posts from 2019 with different pictures. One recipe for lemon chicken literally said 'use your favorite store bought sauce' which felt like a total cop out. I also found a typo in the ingredient list for her chocolate cake where it said 2 cups sugar but then in the directions it said 1 cup. Total waste of money and I could have just screenshotted her Instagram stories for free. Anyone else get tricked by a celeb cooking book that was phoned in?

Got the same cookbook. Found a typo in the first three pages and stopped reading.

Used to think these celeb cookbooks were at least tested by a real editor or something but nah, you just proved they'r basically glorified ad space. I figured someone famous would have a team to catch stuff like a typo in the sugar amount or a recipe that's literally "buy sauce and heat it up." That lemon chicken thing is straight up lazy, like she didn't even try to write a real recipe. Makes me wonder how many other books out there are just repurposed blog content with a fancy cover and a $30 price tag.

Read some food blogger broke down how much cheaper it is to just screenshot their free content.
