Choose your Instagram caption carefully folks - mine went viral for the wrong reasons

I had to pick between a sarcastic joke and a heartfelt thanks for a celeb meetup photo, went with the joke, and now I'm getting roasted by their fanbase for being disrespectful. Has anyone else accidentally started a Twitter war with a harmless post they thought was funny?

Delete the post, let it sit for a day, then repost with the heartfelt caption. People have short memories, they'll forget the drama in a week. The key is to not engage with the comments at all, just let it die down on its own. Once the heat settles, the backlash will look dumb and you'll come off as the normal one. I've been through this a couple times and fighting back only makes it worse.

300 comments on a deleted post sounds like a free social media cleanse if you ask me. Might just accidentally ghost everyone and call it "brand strategy.
