Vent: I paid $85 for a 'professional' LinkedIn photo shoot and the pics were worse than my phone selfies
So back in January I booked a photographer in Denver who promised 'corporate headshots that get you noticed.' I showed up, he spent 12 minutes total, and kept telling me to do this weird chin tilt that made me look like I was smelling bad cheese. When the gallery came in, 9 of the 12 shots had his thumb partly in the frame or my eyes half closed. I emailed him about it and he said the thumb was 'artistic framing,' which is the funniest lie I have seen in a while. I ended up using a selfie my friend took in a parking lot and got two interview calls off it. If anyone in the Denver area is thinking about booking a cheap headshot deal, ask to see the full gallery from the prior client first, not just the 3 good ones on the site. Has anyone here actually gotten a refund out of a photographer for shots like that?
