Tried the 'reply fast to look busy' trick and it backfired hard

I was messaging a buddy about his rent dispute and decided to answer every text within 3 seconds to seem on top of things. He screenshotted my rapid replies and posted them as proof I was 'automated' or something. Lesson learned, sometimes speed just makes you look like a bot, especially when you typo 'defintely' twice in a row. Has anyone else gotten roasted for trying too hard to seem productive?

Ha! That's actually genius, the intentional typo thing. I've started doing the same thing but with punctuation, like forgetting a period or using "u" instead of "you" when I'm replying from the couch. It's wild that we have to dumb down our messages just to seem less robotic, but honestly the moment your replies get too clean people start side-eyeing you. My group chat has a running joke that the 100% perfect grammar and immediate replies means I've been replaced by an AI. So now I'll toss in a "lol" or a random lowercase letter mid-sentence just to keep the humans convinced. The real kicker is when you're actually trying to be efficient and it backfires like your rent thing, then you gotta spend 10 minutes explaining to your buddy that no, you're not a bot, you just type fast and had a boring afternoon.

Been there with the opposite problem actually... my crew knows I type slow so when I fire off replies real quick they know something's up. Now I just pace myself and add a typo or two on purpose when I'm actually busy. Makes it look way more human than trying to be perfect and fast.
