The $80 'handyman special' that roasted me in front of my own garage

Tbh I bought a used pressure washer from a guy in Fresno for $80, said it just needed a new hose. Hooked it up yesterday and the pump blew a seal in 3 minutes, water spraying everywhere while my neighbor filmed it for the HOA group chat. Cost me another $120 for a rebuild kit and a full afternoon of cussing. Anyone else get burned by a 'simple fix' that turned into a whole saga?
