That chat with my neighbor about his fake vacation photos really got me

My neighbor Bob posted all these pics from a "trip to Hawaii" last week, palm trees, sunsets, the whole deal. I ran into him at the grocery store and asked how the flights were, and he admitted he just used a green screen and some stock footage. Said he does it every year to keep up with his sister's real vacations. It hit different realizing how many people might be faking their whole life online. Anybody else ever spot someone's fake travel pics in the wild?

honestly its wild how common this is getting. i caught my cousin doing the same thing last summer, he posted all these pics from "europe" but the shadows in the photos were all wrong for the time of day. people are so obsessed with looking like they have a perfect life they forget its all fake anyway. it kinda makes me wonder what else people are lying about online, like are their jobs fake too? social media is basically a big game of who can pretend the hardest these days.

yeah brian you hit it, the shadows thing is a dead giveaway every time. i swear half the people i know are just curating some fake highlight reel while their real life is falling apart. it's kinda sad when you think about it.
