PSA: Just hit 10,000 unread emails and realized I'm hoarding digital junk

I opened my Gmail this morning and saw that little number next to Inbox. 10,427 unread messages. Most of them are spam or promo emails I swore I'd read later. I even found one from 3 years ago about a sale at a store that went out of business in 2021. It's like chasing a leaky pipe in a wall, you know something's wrong but you just let it sit. Did anyone else wake up to a stupid high number like this or am I the only packrat here?

Different take - I treat that number like a junk drawer nobody needs to open.

Used to think that number was no big deal but honestly this post kinda woke me up to my own junk pile.
