Honestly, I rolled my eyes at that TikTok trend about tap water wrecking houseplants. I mean, my grandma watered everything from the sink for 40 years. But I killed two phalaenopsis in three months using my city tap in Austin, both got brown spots and dropped leaves. Switched to distilled water from the grocery store, $1.50 a gallon, and my new one has been thriving for 8 weeks now. The mineral buildup thing is real, especially in hard water areas. Has anyone else had a plants vs tap water fail that made you eat your words?
