My old neighbor in Reno swore the self checkout camera "never catches anything" and then this happened
So my neighbor Dave, who moved out of our Reno complex back in March, used to always brag about how the loss prevention cameras at the grocery store on Virginia St never actually watch you. He said he'd been "accidentally" skipping the scan on one item every trip for like 2 years and nobody ever said a word to him. Last week I'm in that same store and I see a guy at self checkout get stopped by two employees right at the door over a $4 thing of shampoo. The worker pulled up a screen showing the exact second the item went in the bag unscanned, with a little red box around it. Dave texted me later that he got a letter from the store in April banning him from all 3 locations and he never told anybody. Anyway I'm curious if the cameras got way better recently or if he was just lucky for a long time. Did the self checkout stuff get an upgrade in the last year or was he always getting watched?
