My group chat screenshot got forwarded back to me with my own lie highlighted
Last Friday my buddy Marcus texted our group chat asking who ate his leftover ribs from the fridge. I said I was out of town that whole week, which was a complete lie. Turns out my girlfriend posted a selfie of us at my place that same night on her story. Marcus screenshotted my text and her photo side by side, then sent it back to the whole chat with a big red arrow. I apologized and bought him a full rack from the BBQ spot on 5th Street, but he still brings it up every game night. Has anyone else been busted by their own partner's social media timeline before?
That bit about him still bringing it up every game night is where you're losing me, because you lied to his face over something as small as ribs. Buying a rack doesn't really undo that, it just pays for the food, not the trust. Honestly he's earned the right to rib you about it for a while, and the fact that it bugs you probably means you know that.
