My friend's screenshot proof changed my mind about group chat drama

I used to think everyone in our group chat was overreacting when they said our buddy Dave was lying about his new job. Then my friend Sarah pulled up a screenshot from 3 weeks ago where Dave said the salary was 68k, and yesterday he claimed it was 85k in a different chat. The numbers didn't match and the dates were right there in the image, so I finally had to admit he was full of it. Has anyone else had a friend who needed a side by side comparison to finally see the truth?

I mean, that's a pretty big jump from 68 to 85k. But is this really worth all the drama? People fudge numbers on jobs all the time, it's like the most common thing ever. Unless he's actually scamming people out of money, seems like a whole lot of energy for a group chat argument.
