My dad's 'secret recipe' BBQ sauce was just store bought, caught by the empty bottle in recycling

Last Sunday at my parents' place in Austin, my dad bragged for 20 minutes about his slow-cooked ribs and 'special sauce' he's been perfecting since 2009. My mom asked me to grab something from the garage, and there it was, three empty Sweet Baby Ray's bottles in the recycling bin with the dates still on them. I called him out in front of everyone, and he tried to say he 'enhanced' it, but the label was still fully intact. Has anyone else busted a family member faking a homemade dish, or do I just have the only liar in the clan?
