Hot take: That viral screenshot of the guy saying 'I was at the gym' but his location tag said otherwise is getting way too much sympathy

I saw someone defend him saying 'he probably just forgot to turn off location' but my friend literally did this same thing last week in Denver and the time stamps on his Instagram story lined up exactly with the McDonald's 3 miles from his house, so has anyone here actually caught a friend in a lie where they had a solid excuse but the evidence was just too specific?

Always check the timestamps. They never lie when someone's story is questionable.
