Am I the only one who checked my old tweets and found a typo from 2016 that still gets quoted?
I went through my old Twitter posts last weekend because a friend said she was cleaning hers up for job stuff. I found a tweet from October 2016 where I wrote 'defiantly' instead of 'definitely' about a job interview, and 14 people still quote it. One guy replied with a screenshot of it as recently as March of this year. I was so sure I had deleted it back then but nope, still there. The worst part is I got the job anyway so it makes no sense at all. Has anyone else found an old post that basically lives forever no matter what you do?
Does it really matter though? I get that it's annoying to see your old typo pop up, but 14 quotes on a tweet from 2016 is basically nothing (that's like a lunch table worth of people). Most folks scrolling past it aren't judging you for one wrong word, they're just amused by the joke of it all. Honestly, an old post sticking around like that is kind of funny, and it might even make you look more human to people. I'd leave it up and stop worrying, because fighting the internet over a seven year old typo is a losing game.
