Why does nobody warn you about the day the tack strips fight back
Spent 6 hours on a 3 room rental in Dayton yesterday and the old tack strips were so rusted my knee kicker kept sliding off. Landlord shows up at hour 5 and asks if I can 'hurry it up' because his next guy is coming at 4. Anyone got a trick for pulling rusted strips without wrecking the subfloor?

Six hours in Dayton and my pride took more damage than the subfloor did, because I spent the first hour kicking those rusted strips like they owed me money. A flat pry bar and a hammer work way better than the knee kicker on rust, just tap it under and work it loose a few inches at a time. The landlord rushing you at hour five can wait, since wrecking the subfloor costs him way more than your extra hour does.
