Vent: Just hit 3,000 square feet of carpet with hidden pet stains this month alone
I thought I'd seen it all but after pulling up that third job in Phoenix where the pad was completely soaked through, I had to start charging double for the odor sealant just to break even, anyone else finding this way more common now?

Bet @nancybailey is right, but people are also using way more enzyme cleaners now that eat the padding faster.

Oh man, I gotta push back on this a little. I've been doing carpet work in Tucson for about 8 years now and honestly, pet stains have always been a huge part of the job. It's not really getting more common, people are just finally calling us because they can't hide it anymore with all the DIY sprays. The real issue is homeowners waiting too long to call, then the stain goes down into the pad and it's a nightmare. But yeah, I feel your pain on the odor sealant pricing, that stuff is brutal.

Laughed out loud at the "waiting too long" part cause thats basically me with everything in life. I let a coffee stain sit on my own couch for three weeks cause I kept forgetting to grab the spray, and by the time I remembered it was basically a permanent art installation. At least I got a funny story out of it and a nice brown splotch that matches nothing.
