TIL you can fix a loose power stretcher head with a 50 cent hardware store bushing

My stretcher head kept slipping on the tube during a big 900 sq ft living room job last Tuesday and i was about to lose it. After an hour of messing around i grabbed a 5/8 inch nylon bushing from the plumbing section and wedged it in there - now that connection is tighter than ever. Anyone else find random hardware store fixes that saved their whole day?

Wait, you did this in the middle of a 900 square foot job? That's insane. I respect the hustle but I would have just called it a day and gone home to sulk. A 5/8 inch nylon bushing wedged in there sounds like pure desperation that somehow worked out. I can't believe you had the patience to go to the plumbing section and try that instead of just throwing the whole stretcher in the trash. Good on you though, seriously.
