TIL a weird trick for a stubborn tack strip in a 1920s bungalow
I fought with a bowed subfloor for 4 hours before a retired installer at the supply house told me to soak the wood strips in hot water for 10 minutes, which finally let them bend and hold.

Soak them? That just warps the wood later.

Ever try a damp cloth wrap instead? I did that with my cutting board and it worked great, no warping at all.
