That one Tuesday where everything went right and I finished a whole house by 2pm

I had one of those rare unicorn days last month where I installed a full 1,200 square foot house in a new development over by the old mill. The stars just aligned, you know? The subfloor was perfectly level (which basically never happens in new builds around here), the seams landed exactly where I wanted them, and the homeowner brought me a hot lunch without me even asking. I even had time to triple-check my seams on the stairs before I left. No kicker jams, no weird door jamb cuts, just smooth sailing from start to finish. Has anyone else ever had one of those days where the carpet gods just smile on you? What's the best day you've ever had on the job?

Rare unicorn day" is right. I had one last fall on a big commercial job, a church sanctuary, and man it was like the carpet gods were personally cheering me on. The concrete was bone dry and flat enough to eat off of, the pattern matched up on the first try on like four seams, and I didn't have to fight a single power stretcher issue. Finished by 1pm and the client paid me in cash and threw in a gift card to the BBQ place next door. Still chasing that high, honestly.

That "rare unicorn day" hits different, lol. I had one on a highway rest stop run last month, not flooring but still wild how stuff just works sometimes. @evaallen you nailed it with the cash and BBQ gift card thing, I got paid in cash too and the client tossed in a gas station taqueria voucher that was actually fire. No kicker jams or weird cuts for you guys sounds like heaven, I had to dodge a stray semi doing 90 in the lot and still finished early.

Man I'd frame that cash and hang the gift card on the wall as a trophy.
