Switched from metal tuckers to plastic and won't go back
I used to swear by my metal tucker for tucking carpet at stairs and edges. Did it that way for about 6 years. Then last fall I did a job at a house in Phoenix where the homeowner had a new laminate floor and I kept scratching it with the metal edge. He handed me a plastic tucker he had in his garage. No more scratches, works just as good. Anyone else make the switch?

Never thought about the plastic ones holding up better in heat, does the Arizona sun mess with them?

Had a buddy of mine who did the same thing on a laminate job in Chandler. He was using his metal tucker and left a long scratch right down the middle of a brand new plank. The homeowner was not happy. He switched to plastic that same day and never looked back. He still tells people about it when they ask him for flooring advice. Ever had any other surprises on laminate floors like that?

McDonald's on the 101 had a tile pop loose once, and @caleb262 that scratch story is exactly why I don't use metal tuckers anymore.
