Spent 6 hours fighting a seaming iron that just wouldnt heat right
I was on a job in a basement in Brookline yesterday and my seaming iron kept dropping temp every 5 minutes. Thought it was the outlet or the extension cord but nope, the internal thermostat just gave up. Had to hand seam the whole damn living room with my backup iron that barely works. Has anyone else had a seaming iron fail mid job like that?

Is it really that serious though? I mean hand seaming a whole living room sucks but did the customer even notice the difference? Most people can't tell a machine seam from a hand seam on vinyl flooring anyways. I've had irons act up plenty of times and just switched to a cheap backup without making a big deal about it. You probably spent more time fighting with the broken iron than you would've just hand seaming from the start.

Girl that first iron mishap I had took me an extra 45 minutes because I kept trying to fix it instead of just grabbing my old one from the truck. Most homeowners dont even look at the seam closer than five feet away so hand seaming would have been fine from the start.
