The $150 rental fee was basically my tuition to the school of "buy once, cry once." I still get a little salty thinking about all that wasted cash, but at least my walls are tight now. Can't put a price on that lesson, right?

Man that's exactly how I felt when I paid $200 to rent a giant floor sander and proceeded to gouge the heck out of my living room floor! I was so mad at myself I couldn't sleep that night. But now every time I walk through that room I see the little wave pattern I made and just laugh. Sometimes you gotta pay full price for the lesson to really learn it, right?

300 bucks for a diy paint job on my kitchen cabinets that I ended up stripping twice. I mean I get what you're saying about lessons learned but sometimes I think we give those mistakes too much credit. You could have used that $150 to hire someone who already knew what they were doing and saved the headache. Idk maybe it's just me but I'd rather keep my money and let someone else learn the hard way.
