Remember when we all used to cut carpet with a knife on the floor?

I was at a big flooring convention in Atlanta back in 2015, and I saw a guy using a power stretcher with a knee kicker as just a guide. He told me, 'The kicker is for positioning, the stretcher does the work, or you'll be back in a month.' I went home and tried it on a 15x20 living room job. The difference in the seam tightness was night and day, no more callbacks for wrinkles. Now I won't even start a pad without my power stretcher plugged in. Anyone else have a moment like that that changed your basic setup?

Yeah, that power stretcher trick is a total game changer.

That "night and day" difference is so real. It feels good to finally fix a problem that keeps coming back.

Oh man, "night and day" is exactly the right way to put it. I had this one issue with a leaky faucet that would drive me crazy every time I walked into the kitchen. I must have tried fixing it three different times with pliers and tape, but it always started dripping again after a week or two. Finally I just took the whole thing apart, cleaned out all the gunk, and replaced the washer the right way. It's been dry as a bone for six months now and I still get a little rush of satisfaction every time I turn it on. That feeling of finally beating a problem that keeps coming back is honestly better than a lot of things. Glad you got yours sorted out too.
