Rant: I liked solo jobs, but teamwork won me over.

Having help on large spaces makes the install smooth and quick.

I once tried to tile my own bathroom and the crooked grout lines still haunt me. There's no substitute for another set of eyes to catch your mistakes before they're permanent. Having even one extra person turns a full day of struggling into a few hours of smooth work. It turns out my main skill in solo projects is creating more work for myself later.

My kitchen backsplash taught me the same lesson. I spent three hours trying to line up the first row of tile by myself, getting more frustrated each time. Finally had my neighbor come over and he spotted my starting point was off by a quarter inch in five seconds. We finished the whole grid in an hour after that. Why do we always think we can eyeball it perfectly alone?

Yeah I was the same, always thought I could just muscle through alone and fix any mistakes later. Then I messed up a whole wall of subway tile because I didn't have anyone to check my layout lines. Had to pull half of them up while the thin-set was still wet. Now I absolutely call a buddy for the layout step, it saves so much headache.
