Lost $200 on a cheap seam roller that fell apart after 3 jobs
Bought a $15 roller from a discount tool store last month thinking I was saving money, but the wheel cracked on the third install. Has anyone else had bad luck with budget seam rollers, or did I just pick a dud brand?

Wait, it cracked after only THREE jobs? That's wild dude. Ive had cheap tools crap out before but that's next level bad luck. Did the wheel literally split in half or did the bearing seize up on you? I bought a no name roller a while back for like $12 and its still going strong somehow. Maybe you just grabbed the lemon of the bunch, happens sometimes with budget stuff.

Honestly, "the lemon of the bunch" is probably exactly what happened here. I've had $10 seam rollers that lasted over a year without any issues, so a single bad experience doesn't mean all cheap ones are junk. Ngl, you might have just grabbed a defective one and should try another budget brand before dropping real cash.
