Did you end up having to cut out a whole section of drywall to fix it, or was it just a smaller patch? I've had plenty of those "oh no" moments after a rough day, and it's the worst when something like that happens that just drains whatever energy you had left. You're standing there staring at the mess, probably thinking about all the tools and mud you'll need to grab from the hardware store. I remember a time I accidentally put a hole in the wall moving furniture, and it was this huge square of drywall that took three coats of mud to smooth out. It felt like every time I thought it was done, I'd notice a bump and have to sand it down again. Solidarity on the drywall headaches, they never seem to end when they start.
