Just dropped $400 on a knee kicker with a digital tension gauge. Thought it was overkill but it saved a huge Berber job last week.

That digital gauge probably saved you from a costly callback too.

Exactly. It removes the guesswork completely. That's the whole point of upgrading your tools.

Rubyk86 is right about avoiding callbacks. My old manual kicker was a guessing game on dense carpets. The digital readout takes the argument out of it, especially with tricky patterns. That kind of tool pays for itself on one job where the seams stay put.
