I finally figured out why my seams kept lifting on that big job in Tempe after watching a guy use a different knee kicker technique.

He was placing his foot a full six inches further back on the pad, which gave him way more control over the stretch without tearing the backing.

That's not really how a knee kicker works. The distance your foot is from the pad changes the leverage, not the power. Moving it back six inches means you're using more of your own weight to drive the stretch, not muscle. It works great on flat carpet with a good pad, but it can also make you pull too much if you're not careful. The bigger difference is probably the guy had his technique dialed in through practice, not just the foot placement alone.

So that six inch difference was the whole key? Did it change how much power you needed from your knee?

Hold on, you're telling me the entire fix was just moving it half a foot? That seems way too simple. I figured it would need a whole new motor or gear system, not just sliding it over a bit. Can't believe such a small change made all the difference.
