Tried pocket screws for my last kitchen job and they just can't hold up like domino joinery

After building 15 cabinets with pocket screws the joints started shifting in 2 months, but my buddy's domino-built set is still rock solid after a year, so why are people still pushing pocket screws like they're the same thing?

Nah @maryt62, pocket screws are faster and strong enough for 90% of cabinet builds if you use glue properly.

Stick with what's proven for load bearing panels like cabinets, dominos spread the glue surface way better. Pocket screws work fine for face frames or light trim but they just don't have the shear strength for full joints that take weight. Have you tried a hybrid approach where you use dominos for the main structure and pocket screws only for quick assembly?
