TIL my old way of cutting trim led to a bad gap

I used to cut crown molding flat against the miter saw fence for speed. On a recent job, that method left a visible gap at the corner that I had to fix with filler. Watching an experienced guy cut it at the proper angle showed me the right technique. Now I always take the extra second to set the moldings up correctly.

Ever try it at 38 degrees instead?

31.6 degrees on the saw fixed my crown cuts.

Ugh, that gap is the worst feeling. We've all been there trying to save a few seconds and it just bites you later. Nothing like slapping a bunch of filler in a spot you know should be perfect. It's one of those jobs where the right way looks harder but actually saves so much headache.
